SOAS and NSTC Taiwan Studies Program Launch Collaboration

The Taiwan Studies Programme at SOAS University of London was established in 1999 and has since developed into one of the world’s most dynamic centres for Taiwan Studies. SOAS is also the first university in Europe and North America to offer a master’s degree in Taiwan Studies, with a comprehensive and diverse curriculum dedicated to the field.

Professor Dafydd Fell, Director of the Centre of Taiwan Studies at SOAS, serves as the editor of the internationally recognised Taiwan Studies book series, Routledge Research on Taiwan Book Series, and has long been committed to advancing the development of Taiwan Studies worldwide.

SOAS has received support under the NSTC Taiwan Studies Program’s Chair Professor scheme, and the collaboration officially commenced in 2026.
