Mentorship of Taiwan Studies

 

Description

1. TSP provides funding for veteran professors or researchers with outstanding academic achievements related to East Asian and Taiwan studies to guide the development direction of Taiwan studies.

2. The work shall include (but is not limited to) instructing young scholars, organizing academic conferences and community activities on Taiwan studies, and facilitating regional or international academic cooperation channels.

 

Funding Schemes and Funds Remittance

1. The maximum grant term is 2 years, with a total budget cap of US$ 20,000 (or the equivalent in local fiat currency).

2. If selected, the institution employing the senior scholar will receive the grant amount in one or multiple installments.

 

Eligibility

1. Senior scholars with outstanding research outcomes relating to East Asia or Taiwan in all fields of the humanities and social sciences.

2. Grant applications are open to the senior scholars themselves, or recommended by NSTC overseas offices or professors in related fields in Taiwan before the candidates submit the application.

 

Application Timeline

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Applying organizations shall be notified individually of the review results within 3 months of the receipt of the application. If necessary, extensions may be granted.

Review Procedure

Individual applicants should submit applications on their own behalf. Applications shall be reviewed and approved by the academic review committee.
